Graham Called On Trump To Seize Ships Carrying Russian Oil

The senator called for action on the Venezuelan scenario.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has called on US President Donald Trump to seize ships carrying Russian oil if Vladimir Putin refuses to negotiate on Ukraine.

The senator's comment came amid the fact that the U.S. is already running a blockade for Venezuela and seizing ships carrying sub-sanctioned oil.

Graham is also counting on Trump's support for a bill to impose tariffs on Russian oil purchases and to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

"If Putin says no, I hope President Trump will do the following: sign my bill, which has the support of 85 co-sponsors, impose tariffs against countries like China that buy cheap Russian oil, recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism for kidnapping 20,000 Ukrainian children and, most importantly, seize ships carrying sanctioned Russian oil, just as he is doing with Venezuela," Graham said.
