The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has announced the liquidation of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, head of the Operational Training Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. He was killed in a car bombing in Moscow on December 22.

The investigation is working on various versions of the murder. One of them is connected with Ukrainian special services.

According to the Russian media, the Kia Sorento car exploded after the driver got into the car and drove a few meters. The man was injured and concussed, he was hospitalized in serious condition. The cause of the explosion was allegedly an improvised explosive device that was planted under the bottom of the Kia Sorento.

Sarvarov participated in combat operations during the Ossetian-Ingush conflict, the war in Chechnya, and the operation in Syria. He also participated in the war in Ukraine.
