Ukrainian Artillery And Drones Reach A New Level

In the AFU revealed the details of modern developments.

The war has forced Ukraine to rapidly develop its own armament. New artillery systems, missiles and drones are appearing in the arsenal of the AFU, which can significantly increase the effectiveness of defense.

Colonel Andrei Zhuravlev, chief of staff of the AFU Ground Forces Rocket Forces and Artillery Command, said in an interview with "RBC-Ukraine" said that the Ukrainian army will soon receive a number of new pieces of equipment, among them:

- trailed gun "Marta" of 155 mm caliber with a 39-caliber barrel length and a trailed gun of 105 mm caliber, which are already being tested;

- operational-tactical missile system "Sapsan";

- multiple rocket launcher "Olkha";

- "Neptun" anti-ship complex with an extended missile, which is in the final stages of testing;

- a multifunctional missile complex is under development, which should become a universal platform for launching various munitions: from GMLRS-type rockets for HIMARS to missiles of various purposes;

- other promising projects include a Ukrainian analog of the AN/TPQ-36 radar station, capable of laser guidance to ensure the accuracy of munitions, and a drone with a synthetic aperture system, allowing reconnaissance even in fog, clouds and rain. They are also testing the Barvinok-K high-precision munition;

- the Nettle-D information and communication system is being improved.

It should ensure the transfer of data from reconnaissance assets directly to artillery units in a matter of minutes.

Andrey Zhuravlev explained that, for example, if a reconnaissance drone detects a target and transmits information to the server, the data is instantly processed and sent to the cannon, and the artillery is ready to open fire in two minutes.

Thereby, the time of the combat cycle "detected - hit" is reduced to a minimum, which significantly strengthens the capabilities of Ukrainian troops in confronting Russian aggression.
