The US Supreme Court has rejected US President Donald Trump's petition to deploy troops in the state of Illinois - in the Chicago area. This was reported on December 24 by Reuters.

The Supreme Court upheld a lower court ruling that blocked the deployment of hundreds of National Guard soldiers - at the behest of President Trump, the U.S. Justice Department was working to overturn the document, reporters wrote.
