An Odious Friend Of Shoigu's Has Died

A Russian colonel general has come under British and US sanctions for his involvement in the war against Ukraine.

Former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Sadovenko has died. He was directly involved in the criminal war against Ukraine and was a close associate of former Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

Sadovenko died on December 25 due to a heart condition, TASS reported. He was 56 years old.

Sadovenko was born in Ukraine and graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School. The colonel general worked with Sergei Shoigu for a long time in the Emergency Situations Ministry and in the Defense Ministry. In May 2024, Sadovenko "left" the Russian Defense Ministry following Shoigu.

According to "Project," Sadovenko was one of the Russian commanders who participated in the war with Ukraine. For this reason, he was placed under British and American sanctions in 2022.
