Zelensky: Russia Places Equipment For Targeting "Shaheds" On The Roofs Of Belarusian High-rise Buildings

The Kremlin is using the country's territory to bypass Ukrainian air defense.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting of the Stavka stated that Russia is using Belarusian territory to bypass Ukraine's air defense system and to target Shahed drones at facilities in the country's western regions.

Zelensky said the equipment for the strikes is placed directly on the roofs of residential buildings in Belarusian settlements, posing a serious risk to the country's citizens. The President called such actions "an absolute disregard for human lives" and noted that "it is important that Minsk stop playing with this."

"This is risky for Belarus. We see the steps with 'Oreshnik', now with the help of 'Shaheds'. It's a pity that Belarus sacrifices its sovereignty in favor of Russia's aggressive ambitions," he said.

The head of state said that Ukrainian intelligence detects attempts to bypass defensive positions through Belarus, and assured that Kiev will inform international partners and prepare joint response measures.
