Putin Is Completely Disconnected From Reality

Another contradictory and curious statements of the Kremlin dictator Putin, for example, about the seizure of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, by the Russian army, are not an accidental mistake, but a consequence of systemic problems within the Russian government.

- I will tell you frankly: it is not the first time that Putin gets into such curious information situations. It has to do with the processes and procedures of supplying information and discussing it, which arises for decision-making," Posternak said.

- He emphasized that Putin's image inside Russia does not play a decisive role.

- Another point is important here. I don't care at all what kind of face Putin will look like in front of his citizens. Believe me, the propaganda media will process the consciousness in such a way that they will present this blunder as another success," the political technologist added.

The key, in his opinion, is the international effect of such statements, primarily for Western countries and the United States.

- The point is that this problem Putin got into can be broadcast to the West, to the United States as proof that Putin is far from reality, is inclined to distort the situation and exaggerate the successes of the Russian army," he emphasized.

He noted that this creates a serious reputational blow to Russia in the context of possible negotiations.

- This is a very powerful signal, especially for the negotiation process. It shows that the Russian leadership inadequately perceives both the political conjuncture and the real state of affairs on the battlefield, does not have proper information, tries to use disinformation as an information strategy and, accordingly, cannot be a party that can be 100% trusted. This signal, which is now being sent to the Americans in connection with the situation in Kupyansk, is very, very remarkable and, in my opinion, indicative," Posternak said.

Analyzing the current military situation, the head of the Political Intelligence Center noted that the so-called successes of the Russian army are temporary and unstable. And if the necessary conditions are in place, Ukraine is capable of radically changing the situation on the battlefield.

- With military support, availability of modern weapons and increased mobilization training, Ukraine is capable of performing such military-strategic and tactical actions that can nullify any successes of the Russians in 2024-2025. What we see at Kupyansk is competent, well-coordinated interaction between all branches of the armed forces. This is a well-thought-out tactic and the use of vulnerabilities of the Russian side, in particular, strikes on logistics, actual encirclement and the surrender of part of the personnel of the Russian armed forces," summarized Oleg Posternak.
