Because of the flooding.
On the night of December 28, a state of emergency was declared in the Polish city of Elbląg due to flooding.
About this writes RMF24.
The mayor of Elbląg Michal Missan said that services remain on full alert and the hydrological situation is constantly monitored.
A state of emergency was declared due to a warning level exceeding 590 cm on the Elbląg River, a tendency for the water level to rise and unfavorable forecasts related to strong northwesterly winds, according to Elbląg City Hall spokeswoman Joanna Urbaniak.
Flood barriers were installed at the most critical points of the city - Zygmunt Augusta Boulevard and Warszawska Street - as a precautionary measure.
Services urged residents to be careful and not to approach the river banks.
