In France, Macron's Approval Rating Hits Historic Low
Emmanuel Macron

Survey.

The French people's trust in President Emmanuel Macron has reached its lowest level ever, a poll shows.

As reported by "European Truth", a related poll from Toluna-Harris Interactive and news channel LCI cited dpa.

The poll showed that only 25% of respondents trust Macron to implement effective policies for the country.

This is the lowest level since Macron took office in 2017. The president had already reached this level in October.

The online poll, conducted on Dec. 22 and 23, had 1,099 participants.

The so-called political trust barometer is surveyed monthly. Macron's popularity has fallen four percentage points since November.

His ratings have hovered below 30 percent for months amid mounting pressure, mainly related to national challenges.

Despite the long-running controversy, the heavily indebted country still lacks a proper budget for next year. Parliament passed a temporary solution this week.

The latest poll shows that Jordaan Bardella, leader of the far-right Rassemblement Nationale, is one of the country's most popular politicians with 42% support.

He is followed by Marine Le Pen with 39%, who is seen as Bardella's political mentor.

In the French government, Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin enjoys the highest level of trust this month at 38%.
