German Bundestag Vice-president Calls For Transfer Of Taurus Missiles To Ukraine

The German Chancellor was reminded of his statements when he was in opposition.

German Bundestag Vice President Omid Nuripour, representing the Green Party, has called for the transfer of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

His statement is quoted by n-tv.

"It is good that Chancellor Merz is claiming a leadership role for Germany. Merz should now stick to what he rightly demanded while in opposition and open the way for Taurus deliveries," Nuripour said.

He emphasized that refusing to deliver cruise missiles to Ukraine would cost lives.

"It is not enough to simply support the Ukrainian president in phone calls. The EU must increase pressure on Putin. Putin is the only one who can put an immediate end to this terrible war. Without pressure, he will not budge," Nouripour added.
