Income Tax Will Be Raised In Belarus

But not for everyone.

In Belarus, income tax for some groups of population will be raised to 30% from January 1, 2026. This is reported by the Ministry of Finance. "The actual payment of tax at the new rates will begin in 2027," specifies the agency. "Zerkalo" reminds that the bill with amendments to the Tax Code was previously adopted by the "tentmakers," while its approval by Alexander Lukashenko has not been officially reported.

We recall that now Belarus has an increased tax of 25% (instead of the standard 13%) for those who earn more than Br220 thousand a year. The levy is taken from the amount of excess. We are talking about income from dividends, labor contracts, as well as civil law contracts.

On January 1, 2026, the maximum amount of income, subject to tax at the rate of 13%, will be increased from Br220,000 to Br350,000, reports the Ministry of Finance. If the amount will be more than 350,000 but less than 600,000, the levy will be 25%. It will be taken from what is more than 350 thousand.

At the same time from the income that exceeds 600 000 rubles, will be levied at a rate of 30%.

"Dividends - no change in the level of rates: up to 350 000 rubles - 13%, over 350 000 rubles - 25%," - specify in the Ministry of Finance.

What else will change

The Ministry of Finance told what is considered income for the increased rate. "The base for calculation has been expanded: now not only salaries are taken into account, but also income from the sale of shares in companies, interest on loans, income from rent, remuneration of members of supervisory boards, income of lawyers and notaries", - reported in the department.

The calculations do not include income from the sale of real estate, cars, securities, as well as compensation under the Labor Code, matrimonial aid for medical treatment and payments in case of emergency.
