Spanish Defense Minister: Putin Cannot Impose Peace Terms For Ukraine

Madrid will continue to support Kiev.

Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles opposes the ceding of territory to Ukraine in exchange for peace. She said this on the program La Hora de La 1 on TVE.

"Absolutely not," she said when asked whether Ukraine should, as US President Donald Trump says, cede territory to Russia.

"Ukrainians deserve a just and lasting peace, but it must be established by Ukraine itself. Putin cannot impose it. Spain must continue to support Ukraine," the minister added.
