The U.S. Has Imposed Sanctions On Individuals From Iran And Venezuela

Because of the drone trade.

The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions against ten individuals and entities from Iran and Venezuela involved in the drone trade.

The US agency's website reports.

"Today, OFAC is imposing sanctions on 10 individuals and entities based in Venezuela and Iran, specifically a Venezuelan company that contributed to Iran's drone trade with Venezuela," the statement reads.

In particular, the Venezuelan company Empresa Aeronautica Nacional fell under the sanctions.

A total of five individuals and three entities from Iran, as well as one individual and one entity each from Venezuela, were placed on the sanctions lists.

At the same time, OFAC said it had lifted sanctions on six people. They include a Russian national, three Polish nationals living in Cyprus, a Swiss national and a person with dual citizenship from Romania and Israel.
