The Strikes Against Russia Have Reached Unprecedented Proportions

Ukraine hit more than 50 targets.

Ukraine hit more than 50 Russian fuel and military-industrial infrastructure facilities during the fall of 2025. This is the highest rate of successful hits during a full-scale invasion.

The record efficiency of strikes against Russia in September-November 2025 was reported on December 4 by Radio Liberty. Journalists from the Schemes project examined Planet Labs satellite imagery and mapped the impact of strategic targets in Russia during the fall.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces hit sites in the Russian Federation included the Saransk Mechanical Plant of Rostec Corporation, one of the key ports for the Russians in the Black Sea city of Tuapse, the offshore oil terminal in Feodosia in Crimea, the Sheskharis oil loading complex of Russian state-owned Transneft, the Saratov Oil Refinery and others.

Strikes on the Russian Federation have reached unprecedented scale

Military experts interviewed by journalists agreed that the scale of JIC strikes on strategic facilities in the Russian Federation in the fall of 2025 can be called unprecedented.

"From what we see even from official reports, we can say that the number of AFU attacks on Russian military and oil and fuel infrastructure facilities has increased significantly this fall, and accordingly, the number of successful attacks has also increased, some of which, unfortunately, cannot be confirmed by satellite," said Ivan Kirichevsky, a serviceman of the 413th regiment of SBS "Reid" and a Defense Express weapons expert.

The Bloomberg publication calculated that the Ukrainian military hit Russian strategic sites 14 times during November, and the General Staff reported hitting more than 50 sites throughout the fall. In all, about 160 strikes have been carried out on Russian oil production and refining facilities in 2025, according to Vasyl Maliuk, head of Ukraine's Security Service.

Ivan Kirichevsky noted that because of the attacks on the Russian Federation, the Russian leadership is forced to pull back some troops and weapons from the front to protect facilities deep inside Russia and significantly increase the number of mobile groups to combat drones - and this weakens the military capabilities of the occupiers.

The strikes on refineries also affect the availability of gasoline for Russians in some regions. Analyst of the company "Nefterynok" Alexander Sirenko noted that in some regions of the Russian Federation has already formed a shortage of fuel.

The information agency Reuters in September estimated that because of the Ukrainian attacks, Russia has lost at least 17% of oil refining capacity, and the production of Russian oil decreased by 1.1 million barrels per day. The Economist in September cited an even higher figure of nearly 20%.

Russian strikes in recent days

On the night of December 4, explosions were heard in Orel and Russia's Stavropol region, with OSINT channels reporting that a large Azot chemical plant in Nevinnomyssk was likely hit.

On the night of December 3, the Druzhba pipeline, which supplies oil to Europe, was blown up again in Russia. The media, citing sources, wrote that Ukrainian spies had organized a sabotage on the Taganrog-Lipetsk branch near the village of Kazinskiye Vyselki.
