Tusk Made An Emotional Appeal To The U.S. After The Publication Of The Security Strategy

The Polish Prime Minister recalled an important principle.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said that Europe is an ally, not an enemy of the United States, urging the latter to stick to that principle.

He wrote in X.

Tusk addressed "dear American friends" in English in his post.

"Europe is your closest ally, not your problem. And we have common enemies. At least we have for the last 80 years. We should stick to it, it's the only sensible strategy for our common security. Unless, of course, something has changed," the Polish prime minister added.

He did not specify exactly why he issued the call, but it came amid discussion of the updated U.S. National Security Strategy unveiled this week.

The document stresses that U.S. policy toward Europe should focus on returning to strategic stability with Russia, giving Europe greater responsibility for its own defense and preventing further NATO enlargement.
