‘Peleng’ Employee Tried For Politics In Minsk

The case was considered by ‘judge’ Lubou Simakhina.

Karyna Pratashchyk, a 29-year-old employee of the Peleng company, has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment. She was found guilty under Part 3 Article 361 of the Criminal Code (calls for actions harmful to Belarus), reports the Human Rights Centre ‘Viasna’.

The trial against the girl began on 3 February in Minsk City Court. Karyna's case was considered by Lubou Simakhina.

It's not known exactly when she was detained - the last activity on social networks of Karyna was more than half a year ago. Around the same time, in July 2024, there was a mass persecution of Peleng employees.

Since 2017, Pratashchyk worked at Peleng. Most recently, as an inspector of optical parts and devices of 5th category in the bureau of technical control of optical and space production. She was in charge of checking the quality of optical products.
