In Kiel, German Federal Police officers conducted an inspection and questioned the crew of the tanker Arne, which was sailing from St. Petersburg to Seville, Spain, "in connection with suspicion of sabotage." This is reported by DPA.

According to the publication, the vessel was suspected of involvement in the breakage of a communication cable near the Swedish island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. The detention took place on February 21 after the C-Lion 1 cable, which runs between Finland and Germany, was damaged the day before. As reported by Kieler Nachrichten, the transport was missing an anchor, which aroused suspicion.

The police questioned the crew members, after which the vessel continued on its way. According to VesselFinder, Arne was launched in 1998 and flies the flag of Antigua and Barbuda.
