Drones Attack Gas Facilities In Several Regions Of Russian Federation

Fires broke out.

In the evening of 12 March and the night of 13 March, Ukrainian drones attacked Russian regions en masse. The Russians declared an air alert, explosions were heard in a number of regions, and air defence was actively working. It is known that the objects of the gas infrastructure of Russia were under attack this night. ‘Focus’ collected information about the AFU strikes against gas facilities of the Russian Federation.

Voronezh Region

Around 20:30 on 12 March, an air alert was announced in Voronezh region. The region's governor, Alexander Gusev, reported via his Telegram channel about the threat of attack UAVs.

Soon explosions were heard in several southern districts of the region. According to the governor, the Russian air defence detected and neutralised several attack UAVs. As a result of the attack, he said, two infrastructure facilities were damaged.

Around 22:00, Gusev reported the first consequences of the AFU attack.

‘According to the clarified information, a fire broke out when one infrastructure object was damaged. Operational services are working at the scene,’ the governor wrote.

Meanwhile, local channels posted on the network a video of the aftermath of the shelling. It shows a column of smoke rising into the sky and a fire burning at the site itself.

It is not yet known which infrastructure facilities were affected by the Ukrainian drone attack.

Rostov Region

Also in the evening of 12 March, an air alert was declared in Rostov region of the Russian Federation due to the threat of attack UAVs. Gas infrastructure facilities, in particular the Kalinin gas pumping station, were under attack there as well.

Locals heard a number of explosions. Soon the situation was commented on by the governor of Rostov region Yuri Slyusar. According to his information, all the drones were shot down, and one of the industrial facilities caught fire due to ‘falling debris’.

So far there is no official information about Ukrainian drones hitting Russian industrial facilities. The air alert is still ongoing in the regions due to the threat of attack UAVs.
