A lawsuit has been filed against the Belarusian enterprise.
Ukraine's Ministry of Justice has filed a lawsuit seeking the application of restrictive measures against the company Belaruskali, in accordance with the country's Law on Sanctions, the ministry's press service reported.
The lawsuit demands the seizure of Belaruskali’s assets for the benefit of the state, including corporate rights, financial resources, railway wagons, and potash fertilizers belonging to the sanctioned entity.
The statement highlights that Belaruskali is Belarus' leading state-owned producer of potash fertilizers and one of the largest taxpayers in the budget of the Republic of Belarus, a country fully controlled by the political elite in Minsk, including self-proclaimed president Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
According to the lawsuit, the enterprise aids Russia’s war against Ukraine through financial and business relations with enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex and the occupation administrations of the self-proclaimed "DPR" and "LPR."
Additionally, Belaruskali is accused of providing transport for the deportation of Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territories to Belarus and offering facilities for their stay. The company also allegedly participated in organizing and financing activities that support the aggressor state's policy of denying the Ukrainian people their right to self-identification, the Ministry of Justice emphasized.
