Belarusians are outraged by the low Internet speed in the country.
The Belarusian recorded an emotional video on TikTok, in which she told how difficult it is to work remotely due to low Internet speed.
“Why do we have such a f ***ing Internet in Belarus? It's like the '90s. While the file is downloading, the deadline has already passed," the young woman is indignant.
According to her, she had an Internet connection from both A1 and Beltelecom providers. The client did not notice the difference. Except for the price.
“I just can't figure out what's going on. In Asia, people wash dishes in puddles, but their Internet is much better than ours. And we are a civilization! Maybe I should talk to Elon Musk?" the author of the video joked.
Since its publication, the video has gained more than 53 thousand views and almost 500 comments. Some confirmed her words, others advised to change the provider or configure the equipment. Someone noted that mobile Internet sometimes works better than home Wi-Fi.

According to the Ookla international service, in February this year, Belarus ranks 101st out of 103 countries in terms of mobile Internet speed.
Belarusian mobile Internet provides an average download speed of 19 Mbps , a download speed of 9.47 Mbps, and a network latency of 27 ms.
According to the speed of mobile Internet, all neighbors leave our country behind the flag:
Lithuania — 28th place;
Latvia — 24th place;
Poland — 43rd place;
Ukraine at war — 78th place;
Russia — 88th place.
Belarus is even inferior to Somalia, Libya, Myanmar and Iraq. Right behind Belarus are Syria and Bolivia, which complete the rating.
With the speed of broadband Internet, Belarus is doing better than mobile. In February 2025, our country took the 85th place out of 181, that is, it even appeared in the first half of the list.
The average download speed in Belarus is 77.78 Mbit/s, the average data transfer speed is 53.03 Mbit/s. Both indicators for the year increased, and the average network latency was both 5 ms and remained.
But our country's neighbors are overtaking it here as well. Poland is in 28th place in terms of fixed Internet speed, Latvia is in 56th place, Russia is in 67th place, and Ukraine is in 73rd place.
All this suggests that the Belarusian Internet is inferior not only to European countries, but also to its closest neighbors.
