For bribes.
The Main Directorate to Combat Organised Crime has detained the Director General and Deputy Director of a road construction firm while receiving a bribe of $30,000, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
According to the agency, the managers ‘enriched themselves at the expense of suppliers of equipment and machinery’. They took illegal money from commercial organisations for ‘favourable resolution of issues’. The men were caught red-handed while receiving a bribe in a particularly large amount - more than $30 thousand.
Investigators opened a criminal case. The detainees face up to 15 years of imprisonment.
