The Ukrainian Defense Forces have recently advanced in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have advanced in the western part of the Belgorod region. As shown by geolocation footage published on March 19, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced northwest of Prilesye (northwest of the city of Belgorod along the international border).

Russian “milbloggers” have published maps that confirm the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a field southwest of Demidovka (north of Prilesye), indicating that Ukrainian forces have recently advanced in this area.
Russian bloggers have also claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced to the outskirts of Liptsy (southwest of Prilesye), but have not captured Liptsy or Demidovka. However, the ISW notes that there is no confirmation of such claims yet.
One Russian “milblogger” reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had partially encircled Demidovka from the south, but another blogger dismissed claims that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had advanced near the town. Analysts have also seen no evidence to support such reports.
On March 19 and 20, Russian “milbloggers” claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to attack northwest of Belgorod along the international border near Demidovka, Grafovka, Prelesye, and Liptsy.
Russian ISW sources noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were using a large number of drones in the area, including fiber-optic ones, and that Ukrainian forces had destroyed a bridge near Grafovka to complicate logistics for Putin’s troops.
A Russian insider source claimed that the Russian military command was deploying reserve units to the international border to defend against Ukrainian attacks.
On March 20, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops destroyed a Russian command post near Demidovka in the Belgorod region.
