Experts analyzed satellite images of the aftermath of the strike.
Ukrainian defenders attacked the Engels-2 airfield in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation. Satellite images showing the aftermath of the strike have already appeared online.
“Schemes” note that the satellite images were taken by the American aerospace company Maxar. Ammunition depots were damaged there. Craters formed in place of some buildings.

“It was in these depots that containers for the Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles were stored, which Russia uses to attack Ukraine from Tu-160 and Tu-95 aircraft. There is also a possibility that there was a missile pre-flight preparation center there, which was also destroyed,” said aviation expert Anatoly Khrapchinsky.
Aviation expert Valery Romanenko said on the telethon that the Engels airfield was attacked after the occupiers rolled out 60 containers with missiles onto the open area. There was also fuel at this airfield, and Tu-160 and Tu-95 MS missile carriers were based there, as well as Tu-22M3 bombers.
“So, in general, such an airfield infrastructure is logical... The only thing is that the Russians managed to roll out more than 60 containers right onto the area near the warehouses... And the Russians got it, of course. It flew in beautifully — a spectacular “mushroom” grew,” Romanenko added.

At the same time, he is convinced that this strike will not have much of an impact on massive missile strikes. The Russian Federation has many warehouses and has established serial production of such missiles, Romanenko says.
