Lukashenka To Turn Karpenkou In?
MIKALAI KARPENKOU

The police general may become a lightning conductor.

Deputy Interior Minister Mikalai Karpenkou has again started talking about drones falling on the territory of Belarus. According to him, such incidents ‘occur almost every week.

At the same time, the police general is convinced that ‘God protects the Republic of Belarus’. However, naming the settlements, which were so ‘lucky,’ he twisted their names:

‘All the times they fell in the fields - they exploded. However, all the times they fell in settlements - Loiniki, in Khoyeu (Khoiniki and Loyeu - note) - you know, they are not exploding. They are falling right between the houses, right on the road, 50-60 metres away from the house. And, you know, they are not detonating at all’.

Karpenkou spoke about the difficulties of demining services. The story turned out to be confusing, it adds not clarity, but anxiety:

‘And there is no chance to figure out this drone - whether it has a self-destructor, whether it is designed to self-destruct or not. You can't figure it out without a human being. And the terrain is everywhere like this - you can't send a robot, you can't do anything’.

The deputy minister also described the ‘surprises’ which the fallen drones are fraught with. According to him, a sapper in a special suit ‘brings an X-ray to the drone’ and looks at what is inside the body - a fragmentation charge or a thermobaric charge. Later, the drones are dragged away and detonated.

‘Some drones are shot down, and some drones fly in, and we then demine them, well, this is war, these are the consequences of what is happening along our southern border,’ Karpenkou outlined the whole picture, leaving a number of questions unanswered.

Firstly, the police chief never mentioned the identity of the uninvited guests. Something suggests that if there was solid evidence that some of them belonged to the Ukrainian armed forces, propaganda would have started to trumpet this long ago. And if they are not Ukrainian drones, do I need to remind you whose drones they are? However, Karpenkou considers it best not to talk about it.

Secondly, to hear a professional military officer talking about ‘miracles’ and ‘luck’, saying that the drones are only exploding in the field - this is not only a matter of the professional suitability of the author of such thoughts, but also a matter of trust in people who are not supposed to allow such incidents in the line of duty.

Thirdly, why exactly Karpenkou is signalling about the problem of Russian drones in the Belarusian sky? By the way, his statements on this topic are published by the state press reluctantly.

In a recent large interview with Lukashenka's ‘SB. Belarus Today,' there was not a word about it. The state agency of BelTA has still not quoted the interview of the deputy minister quoted above. Yes, it was published not by the leading state TV channels, but by the press service of the internal troops.

Will Karpenkou become a lightning conductor if the divine luck with the ‘Shaheds’ comes to an end?
