Ukraine remains highly skeptical.
The Guardian reports that during talks in Saudi Arabia, the Russian side is attempting to show that it is in a stronger position and is dictating its terms.
It is noted that the Kremlin outlined points that could potentially end the war in Ukraine.
"However, the Ukrainian side remains extremely skeptical about any agreements with Russia, citing previous instances where Moscow failed to adhere to its commitments," the report states.
According to the publication, the aggressor state Russia has put forward the following demands:
A halt to any foreign military support and intelligence-sharing with Ukraine;
A limit on the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces;
International recognition of the four Ukrainian regions illegally annexed by Russia since 2022.
Additionally, according to CBS News, the United States and Russia plan to release a joint statement on Tuesday, March 25, following the talks in Saudi Arabia, which were reportedly aimed at reaching an agreement on a ceasefire in the Black Sea.
The statement is expected at 4:00 AM Washington time.
