Restrictions were imposed at Vnukovo Airport.
On the night of Thursday, April 10, drones resembling helicopters attacked the Moscow region in Russia. Witnesses reported explosions, particularly in Naro-Fominsk, Moscow Oblast, according to the Telegram channel Astra.
Footage of the drones flying and Russian air defense attempting to shoot them down appeared online.
Amid the attack, Rosaviatsiya temporarily suspended operations at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport, though restrictions were later lifted, reports BBC. Russia also implemented the "Kover" plan at Kaluga Airport, closing it for arrivals and departures.
Vladislav Shapsha, the governor of Kaluga Region, claimed on the evening of April 9 that drones had attacked the region and that Russian air defense allegedly shot down six UAVs.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense claims that since Wednesday evening, air defense forces have "destroyed" 42 drones, with only one of them over Moscow Region. According to Russia, 12 drones were intercepted over Kaluga Oblast, while the rest were in Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Oryol, and Crimea.
However, the Russian ministry, as usual, did not specify how many drones reached their targets.
