A new fragment of the interrogation is shown on the video.
One of the Chinese soldiers, who has been captured by the Armed forces of Ukraine, said that he would not want to return to the Russian Federation in the course of the exchange. In addition, he said that it is dangerous with the Russians, it is heard on the video published by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The new fragment of questioning of the captured Chinese soldier appeared on the Telegram-channel of the President of Ukraine on 10 April.
According to documents previously published by the SSU, the video shows Chinese Chang Renbo. The soldier said that he would rather stay in Ukraine, as he feels safer here.
‘Ukraine treats me better and it is safer here. I don't want to go back to Russia,’ he is heard saying in the video.
In addition, the captive told about the details of staying in a unit of the Russian Armed Forces. According to him, a group of several Chinese citizens was led by a Russian. He showed the fighters what they should do, and they repeated after him. Renbo was handed an AK-47, the recording shows.
Полонений громадянин Китаю Чанг Ренбо каже, що не хоче повертатися до росії: «В Україні, мене годують краще, ніж у росії. До нас ставляться краще. І тут безпечніше».

The law enforcers who interrogated Chang Renbo asked whether there had been any contact with his relatives. In response, the captive explained that he had sent a video recording to his home country only once, but did not say that he was in the Russian Federation. Also, the family does not know that he became a soldier: he kept silent so that ‘they would not worry’. It follows from previous fragments of the interrogation that 27-year-old Chang previously worked as a rescuer. The prisoner of war said that he would still like to return to China rather than stay in Ukraine.
