Zelensky: Putin Does Not Want To End War In Ukraine

The Kremlin is preparing Russians to believe that diplomacy won't end the war.

Russian dictator Putin does not want to end the war in Ukraine. That is why the Russian state propaganda is already preparing Russians that diplomacy will not lead to the cessation of hostilities.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his Monday evening address.

The Ukrainian president reminded that it had already been 34 days since Ukraine responded positively to the American proposal for a complete and unconditional ceasefire. However, he said, for 34 days now there has been a blatant Russian rejection of the ceasefire.

‘Now - just as he has been for years - Putin is focused on continuing the war. Focused on strikes like this (in Sumy - ed.) - on killing. Russian state propagandists are preparing their audience that negotiations and diplomacy will not yield results,’ Zelensky is convinced.

According to the Ukrainian president, the reason for this attitude of the Russian Federation is that ‘in Moscow, now they are not afraid’. Therefore, Zelensky insists on increasing pressure on Russia.

‘If Russia is not pressurised strongly enough, they will continue to do what they are accustomed to - to fight in the future. This has already become a Russian state habit - to fight against neighbours, export hatred and destroy life,’ the Ukrainian head of state added.

At the same time, he noted that Ukraine wants peace more than anything else, so that the strikes against its cities would finally stop.

‘Peace is needed, and it should be long-lasting. That is why Ukraine always works constructively with partners in all formats that can give security and that can restore peace. We are not just ready for peace right now - Ukraine did not want a single second of this war, and every day Ukraine is protecting lives,’ Zelensky emphasised.
