Trump Agrees To Visit Rome, Meet With EU Officials

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that American President Donald Trump has agreed to make an official visit to Rome and will consider the possibility of meeting with representatives of the European Union during this visit.
She said this in the Oval Office on Thursday, 17 April, as quoted by Reuters.
Meloni's trip to the US came amid a tariff dispute between Washington and Brussels and was seen as an attempt to promote dialogue and take advantage of good relations between the two leaders following the US decision to suspend most duties for 90 days.
Therefore, on Thursday, Meloni said while in the Oval Office that Trump had agreed to make an official visit to Rome.
‘I want to thank President Trump for accepting the invitation to make an official visit to Rome in the near future and will consider the possibility, during this visit, to meet with Europe as well,’ the Italian prime minister said.
