The U.S. Delivers THAAD Air Defense Batteries To Israel

The U.S. has also delivered Patriot batteries.

The United States has delivered THAAD air defense batteries to Israel amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, reports the Times of Israel.

According to Al-Hadath, an American Super Galaxy aircraft was in Israel for several hours and also delivered Patriot batteries, the publication specified.

In early March, Trump sent a letter to the Iranian authorities urging them to enter negotiations on a nuclear deal. If Iran refused dialogue, the U.S. president threatened the country with tariffs and bombings "like they have never seen before."

On April 2, the Daily Mail reported that the U.S. and Israel could launch strikes against Iran within weeks. The day before, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei placed the country's armed forces on high alert.

The delivery of THAAD took place against the backdrop of a U.S. operation in Yemen against the Houthis.
