The truth is that the harvest still won. Not even a simple trick of revising Darwin's theory and including rapeseed in the family of cereals did not help. When counted together with rapeseed, last year's grain crop was 8.6 million tons. If we do not count rapeseed, which has never claimed the proud title of cereals, - 7.7 million.
In 2023 it was better. Together with rape, 9.5 million tons of grains were harvested. However, they still did not reach the promised 11 million tons. In 2022, the harvest was 6.5 million, while in 2021 - 6.8 million tons.
And the authorities came closest to a complete and unconditional victory over the harvest in 2020. Then 10.3 million tons of grain were harvested in Belarus. It was collected, by the way, without rapeseed. In 2020, the Belarusian authorities had not yet thought of advanced evolutionary theories.
Suspicious figures
So it's not surprising that after so many years even Lukashenko suspected something wrong. That somehow the harvest is not being reported to him in comparison with the promises.
"Today, after several days of harvesting all over the country, are you sure that we will harvest so much?" - he asked the Minister of Agriculture.
The Minister replied in the sense that it is still impossible to come to unequivocal conclusions on the basis of the available empirical data. Therefore, the probability of harvesting 11 million tons of grain is about 50 percent. Either we will or we won't.
"In short, you don't know! Don't gloss over the problem! You haven't thought about it, you don't know and can't answer it!" - Alexander Lukashenko interrupted. "I believe that we will not get 11 million, based on all factors," Lukashenko assessed the available empirical data.
But it is still necessary to try. If the crop does not give up, it is destroyed. Because the great battle for the harvest has already begun.
"Into battle, men," Lukashenko admonished his army.
