The First Anti-drone Tunnel Was Built In Ukraine

The length of the antidrone road reaches 6.5 km.

Zaporizhzhya region has started to build protective tunnels to cover roads from attacks by enemy FPV drones. The first such facility has already been completed on one of the most dangerous directions - the Orekhovskaya highway, said the head of the Zaporizhzhya regional military administration Ivan Fedorov, reports Zprz.city on July 23.

Fedorov said the length of the anti-drone road reaches 6.5 km.

"This is just the beginning. We have an ambitious plan - more than 200 km of protected routes within the region," the head of the region pointed out.

The official added that the military are involved in the work, sharing their own combat experience to develop the design.

The tunnels allow for safer transportation of personnel, equipment and evacuation of the wounded. For civilians, this means less risk when traveling on frontline roads.

"Recently, FPV drones have become a major threat. They are capable of hitting both vehicles and manpower quickly and with precision, especially on open stretches of road. So new defensive structures are the answer to the realities of modern warfare," summarized Fedorov.

The head of the OBA informed about the construction of the first defensive tunnel, which should protect from attacks of enemy FPV-drones, back in late June.
