The Main Naval Parade In St. Petersburg Was Canceled Without Explanation

Russian Federation ships cannot feel safe even on their own territory.

The main naval parade in St. Petersburg, which was planned for July 27 for the Day of the Navy, has been canceled without explanation.

This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

It is noted that no reason has been officially made public. However, it is already known that neither the passage of ships along the Neva River nor the festive salute from the Peter and Paul Fortress will take place.

In the opinion of analysts at the CPI, the refusal to hold the parade may be related to the fact that Russia's war against Ukraine is increasingly affecting its internal life, including loud and symbolic events that are designed to demonstrate the "strength" of the state.

"The Kremlin can no longer pretend that the war does not concern the Russian rear. Russian ships cannot feel safe even on their own territory," the Center said.

The Center also noted that amid the parade's cancellation, there were reports about the possible decommissioning of Russia's only aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov.
