Right now, Tesla only has a few hundred androids ready.

Tesla is falling short of its own plan to produce Optimus humanoid robots. According to The Information, the company has only made a few hundred units, while it originally intended to produce at least 5,000 by the end of 2025.

This was revealed shortly after the publication of its second-quarter report, in which Tesla did not have the rosiest numbers. Revenue fell 12% due to lower electric vehicle sales, lower profits from regulatory subsidies and weak results in the solar and storage segments.

It is reported that Ilon Musk promised during a call with investors that the company will launch production of the Optimus 3 model early next year. He said the goal is to reach one million robots a year in less than five years.
