Belarus Introduces New Rules For Importing Cars And Limits On Bank Cards

Important changes will come starting in August.

In August, Belarusians are expected to face changes: among them, the rules of importing cars will be adjusted and limits on some cards will come into effect. In addition, updates on ERIP and contributions for individual entrepreneurs will come into force, writes "Online".

Changes in ERIP

Since August 1, ERIP may remove personal accounts of some users. This will affect those who do not sign supplementary agreements for the processing of personal data. The rules for accessing a personal account in ERIP changed last year. Previously, users had to give their consent to the processing of personal data for 5 years, now it is up to 3 years.

To give such consent, you need to mark a mark in a special field in your personal account in ERIP. The innovations apply to those who use the personal account on the ERIP website.

IEs will pay contributions to the Federal Social Security Fund in a new way

The main innovations of the law, which makes changes to the system of state social insurance and pensions, will come into force on August 18.

Let us recall the important changes:

1. The self-employed who pay tax on professional income will be able to pay additional pension insurance contributions if they wish. In this way they will be able to form an insurance record for labor pension and not fall into the pension trap.

2. A more flexible system will be introduced for individual entrepreneurs: the amount of contributions to the Federal Social Security Fund will depend on their actual income. Individual entrepreneurs will pay 35% of their actual income to the Federal Social Security Fund if their annual income is less than 12 minimum wages. If the annual income of an individual entrepreneur is from 12 minimum wages and above, the contributions will be paid from 12 "minimum wages" or, at the request of the individual entrepreneur, from a larger amount at the rate of 35%. Nothing changes here.

3. In addition, there will be a special procedure for payment of contributions to the Federal Social Security Fund, if they find a salary in envelopes. For employers, contributions will be calculated according to the new scheme - more rigid. For employees who receive wages in envelopes, payments from the minimum wage will be taken into account in the insurance period for pension.

The rules for importing cars

From August 9, new rules for importing cars for legal entities will come into force. Cars with internal combustion engine, which are imported in batches of more than 150 units, will have to obtain vehicle type approval. For electric cars, the new rules will come into effect on January 1, 2026. Obtaining a vehicle type approval is a rather expensive procedure; for an importer it now costs 100-150 thousand rubles. For large importers it is a manageable amount, small players will have a harder time, noted representatives of the car business.

For individuals, the rules for importing cars will not change.

Limits on cards

Belarusbank will introduce limits on withdrawing money using digital details of cards (tokens, generated in mobile payment services) to protect against fraudsters from August 4. From "Velvet" cards it will be possible to get no more than 600 rubles during the day, from other cards - no more than 1000 rubles. But these limits can be removed by a call to the contact center or in bank branches.

In addition, from August 4, Zebra cards, "Student Card" and cards under the product "Children's" will not pass payments to gambling and state lotteries.

Cigarette prices will change

Some products of Grodno tobacco factory "Neman" will become cheaper: "NZ Charm Red" and "NZ Charm Brown" will become cheaper by 5 kopecks and will cost Br4.95 per pack. At the same time, Tabak-Invest products will become more expensive: "Korona Elite" will add 15 kopecks, and "Korona Super Slims" - 35 kopecks. Both brands will cost 4 rubles.

Some people will have to live without hot water

In August, hot water shutdowns will continue according to the plan. Some Minsk residents are luckier than others - in some areas, hot water may be returned even earlier than scheduled.
