The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine foiled an attempt of the Belarusian special services to obtain intelligence on the defense of the northern border region of the country.

A 24-year-old local unemployed man was detained in Volyn, who was assigned by the KGB of Belarus to monitor the positions of the Ukrainian military.
The agent was looking for "easy money" through Telegram channels and agreed to cooperate with the Belarusian special services.
His tasks included surveillance of checkpoints, fortifications, as well as detecting the movement of military echelons on local tracks and transit stations.
To collect information, the agent walked around the territory, recorded fortifications and marked their coordinates on Google maps.
The SBU documented the criminal activity, conducted a special operation and detained the attacker at his place of residence.
