Rutte: Trump Will Give Putin A 'test' In Alaska

No final deal for Ukraine.

U.S. President Donald Trump will give Russian dictator Vladimir Putin a "test" during a summit in Alaska on August 15 to see if he is serious about ending the war in Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on CBS News television channel.

Rutte expressed confidence that full-fledged peace talks will definitely be held with the participation of Ukraine and Europe.

"And of course when it comes to peace talks, ceasefire and what comes after that - the territories, the security guarantees for Ukraine - Ukraine has to be involved and will be involved," he said.

But when Trump and Putin meet in Alaska, the Russian dictator will be tested - whether he is really committed to making peace with Ukraine.

"On Friday (it will be) important to understand how serious Putin is. And the only one who can do that is President Trump. So it's very important that the meeting takes place. It's not going to be a final decision. Nor will it be a final agreement," he explained.
