An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 was recorded in the city of Balikesir in western Turkey. This is reported by TRT Haber with reference to the data of the Department of Emergency Situations.

The earthquake occurred at 19:53 Minsk time. The epicenter was at a depth of 11 km. The tremors were felt in Istanbul and neighboring provinces. The head of the Turkish Interior Ministry Ali Yerlikaya said that experts are monitoring the situation.
