Ukraine will not forget what the Belarusian dictator did in February 2022.
Lukashenko is trying to absolve himself of responsibility by claiming that Russia allegedly withdrew its troops after the exercises through the territory of Ukraine, and did not carry out the invasion. This was reported by the speaker of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andrii Demchenko on the air of a telethon, writes liga.net.
He called the statement of the dictator of Belarus "absurd."
He said that Lukashenko is trying to absolve himself of the responsibility that his state should bear for having opened its border to Russian troops who invaded Ukraine, particularly from the territory of Belarus. Perhaps Lukashenko wants to forget February 24, 2022, but of course, the whole world, and Ukraine in the first place, will never forget about it, remembering how Russian troops also entered the territory of our country from Belarus," Demchenko said.
He called the border with Belarus "important," as well as with Russia.
"We understand that at any moment they will come up with some fairy tale to cover themselves with, and, in fact, we must build up our defensive capabilities along the border with Belarus," the speaker emphasized.
He reminded that the entire length of the border is more than 1,000 km from Volyn to Chernihiv region.
Demchenko noted that now the military do not note any changes along the border line. The situation remains controlled.
In an interview with Time journalist Simon Shuster that aired on August 8, Lukashenko said he allegedly did not know about Russia's planned invasion of Ukraine.
