Zelensky: Putin Is Preparing For New Offensives

The Russian Federation has no intention of stopping hostilities.

Russia shows no signs of readiness to cease hostilities, but instead is preparing for new offensives. Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to use the upcoming meeting with the United States as his own political victory. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this in his Monday evening address.

"Today I received a report from the intelligence and military command regarding the Kremlin's real intentions. This is about preparations for further war, not peace. Putin seeks only to present the meeting with the American side as his achievement and to continue aggressive actions," Zelensky emphasized.

He noted that there are no signals that the Russian Federation is preparing for the post-war period. "There is not a single sign that the Russians have received signals to prepare for a post-war situation, not yet. On the contrary, they are moving their troops and forces in such a way as to launch new offensive operations. If someone is preparing for peace, he does not do it," the president stressed.

Ukraine, he said, is constantly informing international partners about the real state of affairs on the front, the progress of negotiation processes and Russia's plans.

Zelensky also announced that active diplomatic work will continue on Tuesday, August 12. "At all levels, we continue to interact with the United States. The Office of the President, the Foreign Ministry and everyone who is necessary to achieve the result are involved," he said.
