The SBU foiled two assassination attempts.
The SBU has prevented two attempts to assassinate journalist Dmytro Gordon by order of the Russian Federation. The attackers were detained ahead of schedule.
The head of the SBU Vasyliy Malyuk said this in an interview with the "We-Ukraine" TV channel.
According to him, two groups tried to eliminate Gordon, because he is for Russians "like Solovyov is for us," only "Solovyov is a propagandist, and Gordon slices the truth for them," and he is watched in Russia.
"Therefore, one group worked with a former MP from the Party of Regions, Grushevsky is his last name. He is now imprisoned. We led them in general on committing sabotage on the territory of Poltava region ... but in the process of documentation. we realized that he was preparing and conducting visual surveillance of Dmytro Gordon... They were already studying his daily schedule, et cetera, et cetera. And they were calculating where he was sleeping. And they were planning a missile and rocket attack. They only needed to give a clear coordinate," said Malyuk.
He added that the attackers were detained ahead of schedule.
"However, it did not stop there. And the FSB decided to finish their criminal operational plan. Here they used - already in another plan - Dagestan ethno-national criminal community..... And even before the war, a young man was routed here, who got married here, who settled down here, and who wrote a corresponding legend. And they were preparing to assassinate Gordon. The price was 400,000 US dollars," Malyuk said.
He specified that the Russians wanted to kill Gordon with short-barreled rifled weapons, and in case the journalist was with a guard, with an automatic rifle, and "to make a control shot with a pistol."
"He (the Dagestani - ed.) and his henchmen - all detained, all imprisoned," the SBU head concluded.
