Two Italian F-35 fighter jets took to the air for the first time from Estonia to intercept a Russian jet.
This was reported by NATO Air Command on the social networking site X,.
On Wednesday, August 13, NATO Air Command said that for the first time two Italian F-35 jets flew out of Estonia in response to a Russian jet in NATO airspace. The Italian jets were operating as part of NATO's airspace patrol mission

"The Italian Air Task Force - 32nd Fighter Regiment at Emmari Air Base in Estonia is in rapid response mode 24/7, demonstrating the Alliance's commitment to the protection of NATO airspace," the statement assured.
