Zelensky Discussed Patriot Delivery With Merz

The President of Ukraine had an informative meeting with the German Chancellor.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky held what he said was an informative meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on August 13. He said this on Facebook.

Zelensky thanked for the support of Ukraine and the organization of the online meeting of leaders and the meeting of the "coalition of the willing."

The parties talked about recent contacts with partners and further engagement with allies, increased defense support, Germany's participation in the new PURL initiative, strengthening Ukrainian air defense with two additional Patriot systems and missiles to them, and reliable security guarantees.

"There is a common understanding: as long as Russia does not make any steps toward peace, it is necessary to continue pressure on it and strengthen support for Ukraine. And this is very important. I sincerely appreciate all of Germany's help and our relationship, which is producing real results for the defense of life," the president wrote.
