Trump Doesn't Believe He'll Get Putin To Stop Strikes On Civilians In Ukraine

The ruler of the Russian Federation does not keep his word.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said he does not believe Russia will stop strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine after meeting with dictator Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15.

Trump noted while speaking to reporters that he had previously had such conversations with Putin, but when he returned home, he saw the aftermath of the shelling - destroyed homes and dead people.

The White House chief was asked if he thought he could convince Putin during the meeting to stop strikes on civilians in Ukraine.

"I come home and see a missile hit a nursing home, or a missile hit an apartment building and dead people lying in the streets. I think the answer is no. I want to end the war..." - said the US president.
