Axios: Macron Took A Very Tough Stance During His Conversation With Trump Before Alaska

French President Emmanuel Macron took a "very tough" stance during an online conversation between European leaders, President Vladimir Zelensky and US President Donald Trump ahead of the latter's meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Alaska. This was Axios reported by an interlocutor who was at the conversation.
He said Macron told Trump that "the meeting [referring to the talks in Alaska on August 15] was a very big concession to Putin."
Another interlocutor also said that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte were "very active" during the conversation with Trump, while Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni "raised some valid points."
Polish President Karol Nawrocki reminded Trump of the Battle of Warsaw exactly 105 years ago, when Poland fought alongside Ukrainians against the Bolsheviks in Russia, the person said.
