The names of the banned songs became known.
Vasileostrovsky district court of St. Petersburg has ruled to recognize five songs of the group "Leningrad" banned for distribution on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to "Wirstka", which studied the court filing, the compositions "Candidate," "No **yna," "Ch.P.H.," "Ospa" and "Russky" fell under the ban.
The staff of the St. Petersburg Academy of Post-Diploma Pedagogical Education in the course of linguistic expertise concluded that the lyrics of these songs contain "signs of incitement to violent actions, as well as actions that pose a threat to the spiritual, moral, social, mental and physical health of minors". At the same time, the expert report did not specify specific phrases or wording that could have such an impact.
The reason for the trial was the complaint of Federation Council member Margarita Pavlova, sent to the prosecutor's office in 2024. After receiving the appeal, the supervisory agency initiated a linguistic examination of the lyrics of the songs, which was conducted by specialists of the St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.
Besides the musical compositions themselves, the court banned 10 Internet pages with their lyrics. However, at the time of publication, all five disputed songs were available on major streaming services, including Yandex Music, Spotify and Apple Music, the publication said.
