The previous batch of Su-30SM2s arrived at the end of May this year.
Another batch of Russian Su-30SM2 fighters arrived in Belarus on August 14, the Defense Ministry said.
"The planes were received within the framework of military-technical cooperation between Belarus and Russia to improve the capabilities of the Air Force to ensure security of Belarus in the airspace," the ministry said.
The previous batch of these fighters arrived in Belarus at the end of May this year.
Reminder, in 2017, Belarus signed a contract for the purchase of Russian Su-30SM fighters. The air force was to be supplied with 12 machines. In November 2019, the 61st Fighter Air Base in Baranovichi received the link (four aircraft).
But the second batch of Su-30SMs did not work out so smoothly. From 2020 to 2024, Belarusian Defense Ministry officials repeatedly announced the purchase and delivery of new fighters, but the deadlines were constantly postponed.
