Drones attacked Russia's Syzran en masse.
On the night of August 15, drones massively attacked Russia's Samara region, where the city of Syzran in particular came under attack. There, the attack raised fires in the territory of the oil refinery, which is considered one of the largest in Rosneft's system, Focus reported.

The Syzran refinery provides fuel to the Samara, Saratov and Penza regions of Russia, as well as part of the country's central regions. The head of the Center for Occupation Studies Petr Andryushchenko spoke about the drone attack and the role of the Syzran refinery in his Telegram channel.
The shelling of the Syzran refinery was also reported by the Exilenova+ monitoring channel.
"Syzran, Samara region, 'arrival' at the Samara refinery," the report said.
The network also released footage of the aftermath of the attack. They show fires rising above the city at several locations.
Attacked Syzran refinery: what role the enterprise plays in the Russian refining industry
Peter Andryushchenko explained the importance of the Syzran refinery in the Samara region for the refining industry and the Russian economy.
The refinery supplies fuel to Samara, Saratov, Penza regions and partially to the central regions of the Russian Federation;
It has access to railroad and river routes;
Produces a wide range of products - gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, and is critical for the regional agricultural sector and local businesses;
Supplies fuel to airfields and military units in the Central and Southern Districts of the Russian Federation.
The official believes that a shutdown or damage to the Syzran refinery could cause a serious fuel shortage in the region, causing Russians to have to transfer products from other refineries.
In general, as Pyotr Andryushchenko noted, this is the third drone attack on the Syzran refinery between 2024 and 2025.
