A Gunpowder Factory Exploded In The Ryazan Region Of Russia

In the village of Lesnoye, Shilovsky district, Ryazan region of the Russian Federation this afternoon, August 15, there was a powerful explosion at a gunpowder plant. As a result, a large fire broke out, several dead are known.

It is reported by Telegram channel Baza and Telegram channel Mash.

It is noted that around 11:00 a.m. a loud explosion was heard, and a column of smoke rose above the territory of the enterprise. Preliminarily, the causes of the fire and explosion are not related to the drone attack.

"Today, an emergency occurred at one of the enterprises of Shilovsky district: a fire in one of the production shops. The injured have been sent to the district hospital. All operational services are working at the scene", - noted in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

At the moment it is known about 5 dead and 20 injured, but the number of victims may increase - at least 20 more people remain under the debris of structures, the shop building is completely destroyed. More than 100 people have been evacuated from the plant.

Interestingly, in 2021, an explosion at this plant killed 17 people. At that time, the gunpowder production shop of the private explosives manufacturer Razryad exploded.
