"So there's no particular hope."

Putin will point out to Trump "Kiev's non-agreement," the Kremlin is ready "for different scenarios of negotiation developments," and the Russian head of state "sets the perspective of Russian-American relations." Such assertions are contained in the methodology of the political bloc of the Russian presidential administration, which the state and government-loyal Russian media "Meduza".

The text of the methodology, which the propagandists received, says nothing about the possible outcome of the summit. However, it mentions that the Kremlin is "ready for different scenarios for the development of negotiations, none of which will be a surprise for either the security or economic blocs." They advise media representatives to argue this readiness by listing the officials who are part of the Russian delegation to the summit.

Putin "does not have exaggerated expectations" from the meeting, although he is "in the mood for dialog," the authors of the guidebook add. They also advise emphasizing that "U.S.-Russian dialogue and interaction is not limited to the Ukrainian issue - there are many other tracks on which mutual understanding can be found." In texts and news releases about the summit, Putin should appear as a key figure: it is he, not Donald Trump, who "sets the perspective of Russian-American relations," the political bloc of the Russian Presidential Administration emphasizes.

In addition, the compilers of the methodology require to indicate in texts that the Ukrainian authorities are "incapable" and the dialog with them is "exhausted," which Putin is likely to point out to Trump. "Ukraine has ignored all of Russia's peace proposals," the methodology says. It is proposed to illustrate this thesis with the thwarted "Easter truce". On April 19, Vladimir Putin announced that Russia would suspend hostilities on the Ukrainian front for 30 hours. Three days later, Putin said the truce had led to a "decrease in fighting," while accusing Ukraine of violating the agreement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in turn, accused the Russian side of the same.

Technologist cooperating with the political bloc of the Russian Presidential Administration, in a conversation with Meduza suggests: the audience of the pro-government Russian media is being prepared for the fact that "the summit may not lead to a suspension of hostilities."

"Warming up, so that there are no special hopes, - so that there are no disappointments either," the interlocutor believes. - That's why dialog with the United States for the sake of dialog with the United States is in the foreground. Putin and Trump agree on something, and [it is] Putin who imposes the clauses of this agreement."

Loyal to the authorities "Lenta.ru", referring to the channels of "military correspondents", already writes that "a breakthrough on Ukraine" is not to be expected, and Vladimir Zelensky "will not go for peace". Another piece in the publication says that "the Russian side is interested in discussing the transformation of interaction between the countries as a whole, although, of course, is ready to touch on the Ukrainian problem." "Komsomolskaya Pravda" tells readers that the meeting with Zelensky is "pointless" and that Putin and Trump will not report on any "decisions on the Ukrainian crisis." Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported that the summit will discuss aspects of the Ukrainian conflict settlement and "theses on regional and international issues."
